1995 Television screens tuned into the world of Jane Austen’s

Pride and Prejudice

The leading roles were played by Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. It was a 6-hour mini-series on BBC1. The 1813 novel was bought to life by this series which also turned Colin Firth as Mr Darcy into a  heart-throb, sex symbol. Jennifer Ehle, won a BAFTA Television award for “Best Actress” The costumes also gained awards.  The film locations were spread out amongst National Trust countryside houses some 24 locations. One of the Weddings was shot in London’s Deptford St Pauls Church. It was set in the Regency period much research went into the costumes, colours, and music arranged by Carl Davis.
