1987 Saw the end of schools in Britain using the cane

The Cane, was a term that had been used to describe when a child was beat with an implement usually by a head teacher, as a form of discipline. It was called Corporal Punishment and was meant to inflict pain for undesirable behaviour. It was not just the cane that was used, a wooden stick, a leather type strap, the slipper a wooden paddle.    It’s taken some countries many years till 2016 to ban corporal punishment in schools. Poland were the pioneers banning corporal punishment as far back as 1783.
