2015 Queen Elizabeth II becomes the longest reigning monarch of the United Kingdom.
Our British Queen, Her Royal Highness is the longest reigning female monarch in world history. Her reign started 6 Feb 1952 and on the 9th of September 2015 surpassed her great great grandmother Queen Victoria as being a long-standing monarch.

In 1842 on the 13th June Queen Victoria became the first British Monarch to travel by train when she made a journey from Slough to Paddington. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh recreated this journey in 2017 and were greeted at Slough by school children presenting art.
