Bohemian Rhapsody Goes Gold: Queen’s Triumph ’76

The Year Bohemian Rhapsody sold 1,000,000 records

Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody

On the 3rd of June 1976, Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody single went Gold, selling over 1 million records. Freddy Mercury wrote the Song, famously featuring no chorus and epic Operatic sections. The record label advised the band the song would not get airplay because it was too long. The good news, the song stayed in the format intended and they gave the world one of the unique music tracks that regularly tops the most favorite song list decades later.
