Stacy & Kevin
Kevin comments, wondering if Stacey is on board with this cha cha or not. Straight legs are what Stacy claims are challenging and she just can’t remember anything.
Strictly – It Takes Two week 1 Friday 28th September 2018
On camera will they be the first couple to leave this week? Stacey is telling Kevin she can not do it, it is really hard, Panic at the Disco. Then we hear the comments from the Judges on the night. “King of the Candy store” – Bruno. “Clean, impressive” – Shirley “Oh my god, you have so much promise”- Darcy.
Stacey and Kevin were on tonight’s show
The couple made an entrance dancing to “Freak out”. Stacey said she had the best time, by Friday she said she was “Good to go”. Kevin spoke about the fact that when he heard they were doing the quickstep in week 1, surely not, it is a difficult dance to do especially the first time. He never told Stacey that. But he claims at least they stood out as being different from the other dancers as people were seeing something different.
Sinitta is meant to show support for Stacey on social media. Also, Jason Donovan supports and Dooley said he said they should do “Especially for you”. We then see photos of the pair done up in wigs to look like Kylie and Jason back in the day. Kevin thinks it’s a great inspiration to do a number to that, maybe in week 5 Halloween!
Dooley said initially the Cha cha ” didn’t set her world on fire” has not taken to it as well, it is what it is. Kevin thinks she is a dream to work with. Best when she gets into character. So then he describes how she is in a club in Ibiza, walking with attitude strutting stuff shaking the hips, Kevin, Zoe and Stacey join in.
Zoe asks if she is a Cockney, Stacey is a Lutonian but now lives in Brighton. She thinks she has gotten more eloquent, but then said maybe not. Good Humour.
The Friday Panel, Biggins, Gemma Atkinson, Alex Zane
Biggins said she is the nicest girl, Gemma said she is lovely and how she throws herself into it, and how she wishes she had done a bit more of this. Biggins took this throw yourself line off piste based on her romantic life. Zane said after meeting and seeing her on the couch he thinks they will be ok.
Other Trivia about Stacey Dooley
Born in Luton, and having had previous experience working at its busy Airport.
Now with an MBE for making her courageous tv documentaries looking at key issues like the drug world, the third world issues women’s issues, child slavery to name but a few.
Other stories online nothing to do with It Takes Two.
Seems like on the internet this week has provided its own headlines on the couple. The ” It Takes Two”, honest comments from the couple has resulted in blown up speculation, that somehow this could result in a possible shock elimination? At least the couple were being open about how things are going but we are not falling for it. Kevin has worked some magic numbers with partners who never thought they would be able to dance, and Stacey has managed some challenging situations.
Week two Showtime 29th September 2018

Judges Scoring: Craig, Darcy, Shirley, Bruno
Scores C-4 D- 5 S- 5 B-6 = Total 20

Comments from Judges
Craig (C) ” Stiff, on bent knees, upper body unruly, bit too contained”
Darcy ( D) ” Free spirit, zest energy keep that going” Acknowledges technical aspects of the cha cha are difficult
Shirley (S) ” You got so much talent, mega talent” comments about standing leg
Bruno (B) ” Spicey Stacey, this girl got all the tools necessary, just need to learn consistency, things go scatty” Dooley agrees she knows what he means, but Bruno said she came out here to kill it so well done.
As the couple waited for their scores Kevin said he thought she was sensational.
We think she deserves a cup of cha after that week. Gets our vote for being honest, able to look cool doing that dance to an up to date song. Also for carrying off that natural iconic 60s look.
Strictly – It Takes Two week 2 Monday 1st October 2018
Choreography Corner with Natalie Lowe Strictly professional dancer
Tough week for Stacey, Natalie said that she is confident, she can sing needs to reign in the technical aspects. So she suggested looking at the closed position when couple stands apart side by side one should try to connect with the male frame. Also tips on stepping forward, she should not step too far forward not outside her shoulder width, the head also leans too far back behind the standing or back leg. The head and body should push forward, head pushing forward, arms should never be above the shoulders. this may help with the “upper body is a bit unruly ” Comment that judges made. Natalie demonstrated this.
Its much clearer to see where improvement can be made when a live demonstration is done, the comments on their own on the night do not really give people an idea on how it should look. Demo section of this program is probably one of the best features.

We said before Stacey Rocks the 1960s model look. Elegant mover, couldn’t really tell what dance it was meant to be, seemed like a mixture of steps and techniques but they worked. The enjoyable story followed the beat, looked effortless.

“The Doctor is in control, footwork, attack, change of roles unique, musical reference, clever”
Shirley mentioned how toned Stacey has become since week one to be able to do the movement where she had to hold her self-straight and strong for the clock hands during the routine. “Beautiful for me, Lady frame, switching to man frame, didn’t miss a beat, and had to be on time ( for various movements) Fantastic”
Very Very strong performance, full of purpose, a little more staccato, unstoppable”
“Like the Dr, he self-regenerates, comes back better, splendidly in the style, sharp focus, proper Tango”. Improvements too Bruno said.
Stacey has not been a previous music dance theatre performer. The on-trend Dr Who that is a female, the switching of gender roles taking the leadership switching was an up to date theme too. The part where she told the robot arms what to do were also fast and effective. Our best all rounder of the night.

This was one of our favourites of the evening, grace style and impressive considering Stacey had suffered an injury and lost some days training. The other tick box is how Craig Loved it, as well as the fact Stacey was new to dance.

“Lovely routine, natural quality, keeps it so real, areas where not enough flow, finish every line, agree with the boys, I want to see you in Blackpool.”
“Audrey would have Loved it, genuine, natural, you put a lot of effort can see into getting the footwork right, maintain the flow through the arms, control the line”
” Upper body should flow more, well-studied performance”.
We are keen to see Stacey each week since she has been in this competition starting from scratch and working from week to week to build the ballroom skills. We picked up something to do with the flow too. The amount of spinning in waltzes is not easy though, and the footwork is tricky, which she was commended on. Belief is what she conveys, in the sense that you believe it really is her that has learnt this routine and performing it. Timeless song.

Some of the Judges Comments
“Those lifts, that rhythm, now just get to the tiny details where the feet close, well done.”
“Wild wonderful, so good like watching Kylie in concert, wonderful.”
” You need to be aware legs in all the lifts and dismount a little haphazard, hip action fantastic.”
“Fun, exciting, beginning to end, personality fills this Ball Room, to ease the dismounts close the feet, keep it together.”
Could sense what the judges meant about the lack of refinement around the closing of the legs around the lifts. Plus she was a good sport about it during comment time, as she was realising what not to do. Highlights in time on the beat, in synch moves to the 1996 Gina Hit, owning that Kylie Vibe.

“Unbelievably impressive, capture tyle 100% genuine fantastic choreography.”
” Economical, Kevin you made Stacey look absolutely Amazing.”
This was our dance of the night, so many treasures in this performance, great when you saw a bit of Stacey’s own streetwise style pose come out in one of the stances. The attitude reminded us of the opening theme music to Pulp Fiction where up-tempo Dick Dales Misirlou 1963 classic meets the 2006 Black Eyed Peas Pump it. Cool.
Tuesday 27/11/18 It Takes Two BBC 2
Erin Boag Strictly Pro dancer discussing Choreography was on tonights show.

“You know Stacey there are sometimes in our life when we do something so magical, that we capture in our heart and it stays there forever, and that’s what that will do for you.”
“IT was seamless, it was so strong, I felt it was the strength of a woman, and loved everything from the beginning to the end, and you stayed in character, congratulations.”
“Look what you done to me, I’m a mess (as it had bought a tear to Bruno’s eye) that was so special, I really forgot who I was, where I was, I was there with you, every second of the way, I am sure everyone at home felt exactly the same, forget about judging forget about everything that really was so special, it was unforgettable. ”
It wasn’t technically perfect, that didn’t actually matter, because you took us away darling, it was real, honest, and it was truthful thank you for that
” Its such an iconic musical and your dancing actually came up to par with that, how to carry that off is not easy, with that all those transitions, from the lifts coming out going back into hold you recovered so well, a really impressive performance.
That lifted the doom and despair from the story of that singing musical and turned it into dance silver lining of hope. Status grace and subtlety. Great costumes and not forgetting no previous dance experience.

what an absolutely superb way to open the show I’m absolutely speechless is there anything you cant do you’ve gone from this beginner with this journey to turning out that kind of dancing with that kind of quality, with full on energy absolutely phenomenal i dont even know what to say I’m speechless.
I ccoulTalk about giving it welly, she burst into action like a firecracker, what was so incredible it was 100% authentic 1920s flapper style charleston you looked and behaved like the spirit of the roaring twenties
well your left foot didn’t do one swivel, I loved it it was quirky eccentric whats not to love
Stacey, you epitomise the naughty flapper, its fun its crazy there is a perfect amount of fooling around without loosing any of the crisp accents, got that donkey in there or poney even…it was fabulous.
so wonderful what you have you have such a genuine quality looks like you enjoy every second on it. out of hold free hand, you know what I’m going to say, once you got on hold exquisite, glid, I am telling you the sky’s the limit.
“I thought the dance of two half the first half American smooth, and the second half v waltz the challenge is you have to keep the rotation going, so I felt it was cheating a little bit, however beau it as I loved it when it kicked off. But should be a bit more a true Viennese all the pivots on the toe rather than leading on the heel…it was beautiful.”
“I liked it charming connection, lovely understated quality, lovely natural quality, phrasing I enjoyed, just before you started those continuous pivots. relax arm, tiny things overall charming beautiful.”
“the quality of listening to the music and being able to stay glued to his side, very difficult
I thought exquisite, beautiful. ”

The story about getting ready for strictly final. Kevin will not be able to see Stacey for 20-30 seconds. Stacey was in a short silver tassel two piece short skirt and crop top. Elements of Jive and other moves.
I feel like I was back in ready steady go, a medley of stacey’s greatest hits, chaos as the words hits was perceived as other words,
Bruno needs to get a command of the English language I was not that keen on dance, a little bit too bitty, a lot of running around, I’m sorry. ”
High energy disco jive, a whirlwind of your iconic move, especially the minions Banana, wonderful I will never forget.
“Another young lady from a beginner, power-packed for the whole room, comfortable with what you were doing, you challenged her to strengths.”
The couples 3rd dance will be the Paso they did previously
An authentic beautiful ~Paso more power, passion and bit of Sass Sultry Stacey everything i like
I totally agree Bruno powerful, driven release slow walk really really good
“for a tiny little thing you can be a very fierce lady attitude, drama power commanding, I love you in this character”
