Crossrail Place in Canary wharf, near west India dock DLR station, is a landmark station on the new Elizabethan Crossrail line.

Crossrail Place is an artificial island with an abundant supply of plants and a beautiful glass dome on top crisscrossed with timber hexagons. (which is said to be the UK’s largest timber project yet!). The station opened it on the 1st of May 2015!

The History of Crossrail place

Hand made mining tradition going back to the 1500s. The cross rail has 42km of underground tunnels. With this, there are additional features included such as;

10 new stations, Art Installations and New Spaces. Some Tunnel boring machines (TBMS) stations are named after women’s names:
Phyllis, Ellis, Ada, Elizabeth, Victoria, Jessica, Ellie, Sophia and Mary.

Under the bridge there are shops and restaurant’s, this project is very multifunctional because not only you get a beautiful roof garden but shops and food places to eat. You also get a glorious view when you’re on the DLR to work or going out. View the gallery of Crossrail station here —->
