2000 the Queen Mother celebrates being 100 years old.

The whole of the royal family appears on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The 11ft Bronze Frieze statue memorial was created by artist Paul Day. It shows The Queen Mother engaging in different activities. She was photographed in the past, in particular, her interaction with those suffering from the bomb damage that occurred during WW2. When Buckingham Palace was bombed this was her public response,

“I’m glad we’ve been bombed. It makes me feel I can look the East End in the face.”
