Fathers Day , Countries now seem to adopt the American date the 3rd Sunday in June. Mainly Catholic European countries had been celebrating it in March 19th St Josephs day since the middle ages.
In more modern timers, Harry C Meek of the Lions Club International USA, was eventually recognised as the founder of the idea as he suggested using his birthday in June as that date in 1915. In 1966 President L Johnson started the process to get the day as national day. It was not until President Nixon made it legal in 1972 as a national holiday.
