1829 University boat race was first held on the River Thames between Oxford who won that year and Cambridge. Two crews of 8 men. Today women also race and boating is enjoyed in a variety of formats along the Thames from the THames Clipper services to various docs, to river meal cruises, Barges, to sailing ships, canoes, peddal power, classic row boats.
